Sara Hernandez
Sara is the founder and creative artist behind Bonita Brides. She is an award winning Austin makeup artist, straight out of the hill country, raised in San Antonio Texas. During her time attending The University of Texas in Austin, she discovered her talent and love for the makeup connection. She's currently lives and works in Austin, Texas.
After conquering the makeup world in San Antonio, doing makeup for everyone from the San Antonio Spurs Silver Dancers to various Tejano music stars, she packed up her bags and moved to Los Angeles. It was while spending time mentoring under some of the industries biggest artists including, Sharon Gault and Scott Barns, Sara began making her own waves in the world of beauty.
During her 13 years in Los Angeles she spent time working and traveling with Prince, Nick Cannon ,Carmen Electra, Eric McCormack, Danny Trjeo, and Paris Hilton, just to name a few. She was also the department head to several independent films including American Son, an official selection of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Want to see some of her celebrity and film work? Hi, I'm Romi! I was born and raised in Pasadena. I fell in love with makeup, so I attended the MUD Studio LA in Burbank. A few years after, I took part in a reality TV show on Showtime for a few years while continuing my career in beauty. Once I had my daughter, I decided to get out of LA and moved to Austin, where I currently reside and am still doing makeup and beauty sales. I cohost a podcast with my best friend. I started competing in beauty pageants with I was 16 and fell in love with hair, makeup and all the glam that came with it! I do both hair and makeup, I am experienced in all ethnicities and can do a wide variety of looks from natural to full glam. Me personal favorites are natural glam makeup and BIG Texas hair! "The higher the hair the closer to God"!

I studied bridal makeup with James Ryder and I LOVE animals. When I'm not making beauty dreams come true for my brides, I'm volunteering at Pioneer farms feeding the rescue animals or helping our at Austin wildlife rescue. I also help to fundraise for Houston's chow rescue were I adopted my 2 fluffy chowchow boys!

I was anxious about my wedding hair and makeup because I hadn't had great experiences in the past, but was impressed with the photos in Sara's portfolio on her website so ended up hiring her. She and her team far exceeded my expectations on my big day - not only did they do an AMAZING job with my hair and makeup, but all of my bridesmaids looked beautiful as well. Sara was also just a fun, calming presence while we were all getting ready. Highly recommend!

Where to start! I hired Sara for my bridal hair/makeup and a service to blow dry and style my grooms hair. I can't thank Sara enough for capturing everything I wanted, the whole process was very smooth and on initial contact she was very prompt with providing all the information needed. Payment was smooth, I used the Venmo option. On the day of we added one more service and I'm thankful she was able to help us out because it was my grandmothers birthday. Overall I'm very satisfied with the services provided and I'm very happy that she tried to calm me down with a minor situation I was having lol.
